Gender Discrimination at Work Place – Its Effects on Women Introduction Despite the improvement in the policies in the workplace in India, 42% of women employees still face discrimination (Kumar & Das, 2019), which shows that gender inequalities continue to undermine women’s professional rights and organizational effectiveness. However, the issues of such discrimination are still prevalent in Indian workplaces, and besides the wage disparities and restrictions in promotions, women are also exposed to the limiting aspects of the systematic gender bias that keeps reinforcing social injustices. These issues not only have implications for self but also are responsible for organizational problems, and low efficiency in production. Combating these challenges requires engaging in measures that support diversity and non-discrimination, and increase employees’ productivity and value within organizations.
